Farouk Dey

Farouk Dey, PhD, MBA
Associate Vice Provost and Dean of Career & Experiential Education

Dr. Farouk Dey is a higher education executive with two decades of progressive experience leading and transforming educational organizations using innovations in technology, experiential learning, and organizational design. As Associate Vice Provost and Dean of Career & Experiential Education at Stanford University, he oversees a portfolio of 80+ educators in four centers: BEAM Career Education, Bechtel International Center, the Office of Accessible Education, and the Schwab Learning Center. Since joining Stanford in 2013, he has been building and scaling career and experiential education, and implementing a new vision and a reinvented model of connections, communities, purposeful learning, and meaningful work. Dr. Dey has held senior leadership and board roles at several institutions and organizations, including Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, the University of Florida, the National Association for Colleges and Employers (NACE), and the American College Personnel Association (ACPA). His credentials include an MBA, a PhD and an Ed.S in Education, an ME.d in Counseling Psychology, and a BBA in Finance. Founder of the Stanford Future of Work Symposium, Dr. Dey has authored several articles and book chapters and served as a consultant and board member at many organizations and universities, faculty member at several institutes, and keynote speaker and panelist at many conferences in the US and around the world.



Betsy Cuisinot
Director of Operations

Betsy has been with Stanford for 30+ years. She manages administrative services, which encompass the management of finance, human resources, facilities, marketing and user experience, health & safety, and day-to-day operations of BEAM. She is also is part of BEAM's leadership team, which provides direction on issues, such as budget, branding, policies and procedures, and other critical decisions. Betsy holds a BA in child development from California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo.



Jing Jing Yang
Manager of Budget and Payroll

Jing Jing has been with the organization for 20+ years.  Her responsibilities include overseeing the Center's accounting and assisting with the budget.  She also greatly enjoys managing the student assistants and helping students find jobs on campus. A former teacher with an MA degree in Linguistics, she is a native speaker of Mandarin, proficient in Taiwanese and has a basic knowledge of German. Jing Jing enjoys spending time with her husband and two children as well as travelling, photography, and embroidery.



Bill McIndoo

Bill McIndoo
Manager of Digital User Experience and Data Insights

Bill manages the UX and digital touch points at BEAM, focusing primarily on CRM and web UX/design. Bill began his career in advertising, mapping and building applications for medical, financial, professional athletics, and non-profit clients. It wasn't until his wife attended seminary at The University of the South that Bill found his calling to meaningful work in the higher ed space, helping rebuild Sewanee's digital strategy. Apart from diving headlong in to analytics, code, and user experiences, Bill like to play soccer, design impactful and relevant marketing campaigns, cook, and explore the California coast with his wife, son, and their dogs.


Dietra Woods

Administrative Associate

Dietra has been with the staff for 12 years. In this role, she is the first point of contact for visitors at BEAM. Dietra has 18 years of administrative experience, and in 2007, graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BA degree in Business Management. She loves spending time with her husband and five children. In her spare time, what little there is of it, she enjoys shopping, cooking, watching sports, and baking.
