Arame Mbodj

Assistant Director of Career Catalysts

Tell us something interesting about your background?
I have a strong commitment to health and wellness which led me to becoming a certified yoga instructor and certified personal trainer. I also have a background in mental health counseling. I love helping others in any capacity whether it is in their careers or personal well-being.

What has led you to your current role?
I started my career working in psychiatric hospital and while I enjoyed that role, I quickly found my calling as a career counselor/coach while in graduate school. Which has led me to working in higher education for 8+ years. Since then, I've dedicated the past few years of work in career education on the underrepresented student experience, bringing identity to the forefront within the career space. Dedicated to supporting BIPOC students, as well as FLI and international students, amongst many other marginalized identities. I enjoy helping students find meaningful work so they can feel empowered to integrate their identity in the workplace and navigate any career space.

In your spare time, what do you enjoy doing?
In my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking, hiking, yoga, boxing, and weightlifting.

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology, Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling
